Fully Mobile Crushing
![]() |
The crushing tool is primarily considered to be a double roll crusher, however, other crushing tools, such as sizer or hammer crusher could also be used. The selection of the tool depends on the material to be crushed, the defined capacity and material grain size. The double roll crusher has certain advantages in handling large bulks and can be equally well used for soft and sticky material.
With its double roll crusher, the fully mobile crushing plant has been designed for customers working in loose and solid rock surface mines with a medium-solid rock of compressive strengths of up to 180 MPa. Consequently, coal, ore, rocks and soil, natural rock, slag and cement clinker can be crushed with this crushing tool. The first fully mobile crushing plant of this kind was first sold by ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnik to China (Inner Mongolia) at the end of 2005. There the system is used at a coal mine. The crusher which has a capacity of 3000 t/h is fed by a rope shovel with a bucket capacity of 28 m3. After crushing, the crushed material is put on to the movable belt conveyor via a belt wagon.
The grain size of the feeding material ranges between 0 and 1800 mm, while the crushed material equals / is smaller than 300 mm. The moving speed of the crushing plant is comparable to that of the rope shovel. The commissioning in the mine of Huaneng Yimin Coal and Electricity Company is scheduled for mid of 2007.
Application of the fully mobile crushing plant
Owing to the fully slewable discharge belt and the entire superstructure, the system and the crawler undercarriage are marked by extraordinary move-ability which allows it to follow the slightest movements of the loading machine.
It is planned to use the fully mobile crushing plant at the above Chinese coal surface mine together with a rope shovel and a belt wagon which reachs 64 m in total. The machines will work in a three-bench operation in block cuts of 2 × 25 m. At first a high step with a block height of 15 m is cut by the rope shovel which is 8 m above the bench belt. After returning to the bench belt surface, the shovel cuts a high cut of 8 m followed by a deep step of 8 m below bench belt surface.
Total bench length amounts to max. 1700 m. With this type of operation, the overburden consisting of mudstone and siltstone and the coal will be removed. The coal there is more solid than the over- and interburden. Therefore, the coal is loosened by blasting operations.
In line with the customers’ needs, the fully mobile crusher as well as the belt wagon and the trip-per car can be operated by the excavator driver of the loading machine with the help of state-of-the-art controls and instrumentation equipment.
Thus, the entire process consisting of the mining sequences “loosen”, “load” and “transport” can be controlled by one person at great precision. The fully mobile crusher can immediately be moved after the chute has been emptied. That means the mining operation is interrupted only by the mere moving time of the loading machine or the crusher and the belt wagon thus guaranteeing a very high level of availability.
