Small Footprint Dust Collectors
![]() |
The flow optimised shape of the filter packs in conjunction with the nanofibre filter media allows a higher dust load to be collected on the surface of the media flutes, as would be possible with conventional fibre filters with a depth loading of 540 g/m2 standard polyester. This high surface filtration performance combined with a patented pulse cleaning technology, leads to the high performance increase on the smallest footprint at the lowest pressure drop and a minimised energy input.
The PowerCore dust collectors utilize a directed flow inlet and manage airflow and velocities below the filters. Hopper sweeping as well as dust re-entrainment are avoided. The new compact pulse cleaning system is designed to match the obround shape of the filter packs. The resulting pulse flow effectively covers the entire media pack and pulses the dust out of the fluted channels. Computer-modeled flow analyses were the basis for these solutions.
The solution can be used in a wide range of dust collection applications, from waste treatment and insulation material production to the wood and food industry up to the use in cement plants. The fact that six traditional fabric filters can be replaced by one filter pack with the same performance leaves a wide scope for the design of dust collectors for flow rates from 1360 cubic meters per hour to 34000 cubic meters per hour. The manufacturer says, that the dust collection system CPC as a stand-alone unit can be up to 50 percent smaller than conventional baghouse dust collectors, and that the size of the silo dust collector CPV could be reduced by up to 70 percent compared to conventional systems and it is therefore also suitable for the installation on conveyors and discharge conveyors, mixers and agitators.
